Don’t wear a hoodie at Manhattan Center

On May 1, 2012 a student came to me highly upset. He stated that a Dean Dennis Hernandez had called him Trayvon Martin because he was wearing a hoodie. As a mandated report I forwarded the complain of verbal abuse to the Guidance office.

I also had the student go directly to Principal Jimenez with the complaint because if I would have reported it would have fell on deaf ears

  1. True story..The student was Jamaul Melville. Great kid. Never did a bad thing in his life. He didn’t deserve that. I feel sorry for him but I feel even sorrier for the pathetic teacher who showed blatant racism and disregard for humanity against a minor. How is he still working in a school?
